Glenmore

The History

Glenmore’s origins begin with a 1,300-acre estate established in the early 1700s. The original manor house, built in 1724, still stands today as a preserved symbol of the area’s colonial past. Over the years, the land passed through prominent hands – including relatives of Thomas Jefferson – and was later home to a draft horse farm. Its past as an equestrian estate laid the foundation for Glenmore’s modern-day character and charm.

In the early 1990s, Glenmore’s transformation into a private, master-planned community began under the guidance of local developer Frank Kessler. His vision was to create a gated country club neighborhood with amenities designed for active and social living. That vision took shape with the inclusion of a clubhouse, golf course, tennis courts, and an equestrian center – all within a secure, thoughtfully designed neighborhood.

Today, Glenmore includes approximately 750 homes set across 1,300 acres, with more than 500 acres preserved as green space. The neighborhood features a mix of home styles, from grand estates to cottage-style residences, unified by consistent architectural standards and integrated into a setting that emphasizes privacy, natural beauty, and community connection.
